Prunes(Dried Plums)
Technically prunes are dried plums, but only the unpitted plums that can be dried without fermentation are called prunes. Most of the prunes grown in the warm, well-irrigated and fertile land of California are the d'Agen variety that originates in France, and these account for about 70% of the entire world's harvest. We grow several hundred acres of prunes in California, U.S.A. Prunes can be served fresh, as dices, pastes and purees and are widely used for confectionery, baking and processed products.
