Pistachio Nuts
Once served exclusively to royalties, and with a legend that it was a favorite food of the Queen of Sheba, pistachios are called the queen of nuts. Pistachios are especially popular among Arab, Armenian, and Turkish Europeans. America is the largest producer, accounting for about 60% of global production. The nuts arrived in California in the 1880s, where a consistent harvest became possible after improving the variety and farming techniques.
