Hazelnuts
Since around 300 BC, hazelnuts have grown naturally along the Black Sea coast in northern Turkey. Even today, Giresun and Trabzon are main production areas and boast three-quarters of the world's production. The main variety of Turkish hazelnuts is the round-shaped Giresun quality, which has a high fat content and a fine aroma. With a unique flavor and texture, hazelnuts are one of the three major nuts of the world, next to almonds and cashews.
