Macadamia Nuts

Macadamia nuts actually hail from northeastern Australia. However, because seeds were brought to Hawaii in the 1890s and a large orchard was established, there is a widespread image that macadamia nuts are from Hawaii. However, as agricultural development expanded in other countries, China, South Africa, Australia, and Kenya have become the major producing countries, leaving Hawaii as the fifth-largest producer today.
