Goldenberries

This is the edible version of the "hozuki" fruit in Japan that is said to have originated in Europe. It is a different variety to the hozuki plant in Japan, which is ornamental. Grown in the Andes at altitudes ranging from 2,500-3,000 meters and harvested throughout the year, goldenberries can be harvested about six months after planting the seedlings. In Central South America and Europe, the homes of goldenberries, they are widely available fresh. The inner fruit after peeling the skin is served as salad toppings and fruit. It is one of the superfoods like almonds, coconut oil and wolfberries.
