Figs

Figs are said to have come from the Mediterranean coast along Southern Europe, Asia and Africa, and have been grown since around 3000 BC. They are also claimed to be one of the first fruits that humans cultivated. Since ancient times, figs have been a holy fruit and a symbol of peace and prosperity. Dried figs can be served fresh, and are also used in processed formats such as jams and pastes.
