Cranberries

A plant of the vaccinium oxycoccos species and Ericaceae family, cranberries originate from the marshland of the northeastern part of the United States. The name comes from their light-pink flowers that blossom from April to June resembling cranes. Turkey and cranberry sauce are indispensable for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners in the United States, but cranberries also have an extremely wide variety of other uses.
